Pan-seared cinnamon biscuits
Ingredients:
*Please see the recipe card below for detailed instructions and important recipe notes!
1 Can of refrigerated biscuits (I use these but Pilsbury Grands! or similar would work too!)
1/3 cup butter, softened
2 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions:
*Please see the recipe card below for detailed instructions and important recipe notes!
- Bake refrigerated canned biscuits in the oven according to directions on the can.
- When the biscuits are done, remove from oven and allow to cool slightly. Once they are cool enough to handle, use a spatula to press down on the biscuit and smack it down slightly. It doesn’t have to be completely flat, but you want a smooth service to butter and sear.
- In a small bowl, add butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon and mix until combined. Butter each side of the biscuit (top and bottom), with the butter mixture.
- In a skillet on medium heat, add biscuit and cook for about 1 minute on each side to sear the surface and cook the sugar. This will give the biscuits a sweet, cinnamony crunch when you bite into it!
- Remove from heat and place one dish. Cover with the prepared apple pie topping. If you have leftover butter mixture, you can heat it until the butter melts and drizzle over the top for a little extra sweetness!
- Garnish with a little extra cinnamon or add a scoop of ice cream to turn this yummy breakfast into a warm and sweet dessert!
