The best toddler birthday party place!
Hold on to your hat because I’m going to say it.
Chuck. E. Cheese
There, I said it. And it’s TRUE!
I have had 2 toddler birthday parties there. Compared to all of the 15 other places (I have had 15 birthday parties over three kids- some at home, of course!), Chuck E. Cheese’s is the easiest, most fun, and hassle-free birthday party location I have been.
Here is why Chuck E. Cheese is the absolute best place for toddler birthday parties that BOTH kids AND parents will love!
~You don’t have to set up or clean up! When one of my kids is having a birthday, I swear my entire week is consumed with birthday madness. Shopping, groceries for the party, finding a cake…. it’s SO stressful during a time when I just want to have fun with my kid! Chuck E. Cheese is my favorite go-to for birthday parties because all I have to do is show up, have fun, and leave!
~There is something for everyone. When you’re planning a birthday party for your toddler, you always worry about there being something to do for the big kids and the young kids alike. I love that Chuck E. Cheese has basketball games, skee ball, ticket- winning games AS WELL AS a carousel, a mini-train ride, small water shooting duck games and many other things for even the smallest little party go-er! And of course, everyone loves meeting Chuck E.! (rides vary by location)
~You can have a small party or a large party. I only have about 6-7 kids to invite to the birthday parties and I have a hard time finding a party place with a minimum under 10 kids. At Chuck E. Cheese, I don’t have to pay for more children than actually show up and the current minimum is just 4 children. That is such a big deal for me because I want my child to have these special birthday memories with a party that fits our needs.
~Add on what you want! I was really impressed with all the add on options. I could choose how many extra pizzas I wanted (if any), drinks for the adults, appetizers, dessert options (yes, they have a birthday cake option- several actually), and even extra prizes for the kids. They even have a gluten-free personal pizza for anyone with a gluten allergy/sensitivity.
speaking of add ons…
~ALL YOU CAN PLAY! Older siblings don’t have to stop playing to ask for money anymore! You can choose All You Can Play as part of the party package (in the Mega Star package currently) or add it on as an option when booking your party. The kids were SO excited that they could play as many games as they wanted! Your toddler can take as many rides on the Chuck E. Train as he/she wants!
~Party host included At Chuck E Cheese parties, you can actually hang out with your birthday kid and have fun! When you arrive, a party host greets you and handles all the pizza serving, birthday song singing, and moving the party along.
~Kid check safety. Less panicking about kids running around (and out the door) with the Chuck E. Cheese Kid Check process that gives each child/parent a stamp that must be checked before any child can leave out the front door. There is no substitute for supervision, of course, but this added level of security is definitely a little peace of mind during a busy day.
I need to add that I have no relationship with the Chuck E. Cheese company at the time I am writing this. I just truly think it is an easy and fun place to have a birthday party. My whole site is dedicated to making Mom’s life easier and this is definitely a win in that category! Here is the Chuck E. Cheese site to check out the details.
More locations to have a birthday party for toddlers
Here are a few other ideas for toddler birthday parties. (you can also check out this article with a master list of party location ideas!)
Park– Toddlers love to run and swing and climb so check if your local park allows birthday parties! Weather permitting, this is an easy and inexpensive option. Best of all, you can customize the entire party with your child’s favorite character or theme!
Children’s Museum- Check with the children’s museum in your city. Most have many different party options for kids of all ages. I had my daughter’s 3rd birthday at our local Children’s Museum and the kids had a blast! We had our own party room, host, planned activity, and the kids were all allowed to go through the museum after. I thought it was very affordable and fun! (Programs and options will vary so check with your local museum for details.)
Rent a hall– If you have a lot of family or friends, renting a hall that you can decorate yourself is always a great option. We have done this for 1st birthday’s and added some fun by putting down a soft mat for the toddlers to crawl easily. We also brought a small ball pit and soft climbing blocks! It was super adorable and flexible. Try your local church, Firehall, or smaller wedding venues (which are usually vacant on Sundays!).
Inflatable bounce house locations– Do you have those big bounce-house locations near you such as Bounce U? These places are made for parties and the inflatable option is perfect for toddlers.
Home- Hear me out! I’m sure you have thought of it already, but having your toddler’s birthday party at your home is a super comfortable option for the birthday babe. It is already baby-proof and you have everything you need right at your fingertips. If you are pressed for space (and believe me, I hear you on this one) you can try having it outside, splitting between two parties (maybe friend one day and family the next?), or maybe even renting a tent for the yard. These are just a few ideas to try and make your home the most comfortable and affordable place to have the party.
If none of those options seem to be a good fit for your needs, I also have a list of 25 birthday party locations with a free printable checklist you can check out for even more ideas.
