Irresistible Chocolate Chip Cookie Balls!
Quick and easy! Only three ingredients!
We have a cookie addition in my family. I admit it. I’m a cookie-aholic. I love to try new recipes for cookies and even experiment with my own. Recently I was making Oreo Balls and I thought, “I wonder if I could make these with chocolate chip cookies?” Guess what? You can!
This recipe is a nice switch from the ever-popular Oreo balls. Every party I go to, there seems to be a tray of delicious Oreo Ball dessert cookies. They disappear pretty quickly so I bet this fun twist on the recipe will vanish even faster. Here is my party tip: Check the fridge and the freezer. The best desserts are always hidden. I know this because- I hide them! 😉 You’re welcome! Now on to the Chocolate Chip Cookie Balls
Here’s what you need:
1 bag of chocolate chip cookies
8oz cream cheese (softened)
Icing
~Makes about 30-35 cookies

Empty the entire bag of chocolate chip cookies into a large plastic bag (the freezer ones are a bit stronger). Crush the cookies into fine crumbles (I use a meat tenderizer ) as shown in photo above.
Put the crushed cookies into a bowl and add the softened cream cheese. (I microwave the cream cheese for about 30 seconds prior to adding to the cookies). Mix well with a spoon.
When the cookies and cream cheese are mixed well it should look something like this:
Next, use the batter to make balls (about the size of a bouncy ball). I use a tablespoon-sized measuring spoon to scoop up the batter. It helps me to be consistent in the cookie size and starts off the ball shape nicely. Place cookie balls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Place tray in the freezer for about 15 minutes. You want the cookie balls to harden up a bit.
Icing time! This can be the most tedious part of cookie balls. My mom taught me a trick to save a LOT of time here: put the icing in the microwave for 15-20 seconds. This will thin it out enough to allow you to pour it over the cookie balls. If you prefer, you can use melt baker’s chocolate (or chocolate chips) and roll each ball in the chocolate.
Place the iced cookie balls back in the freezer for about an hour. If you use icing, the finished product will be a bit sticky. Use toothpicks to pick up cookies for less mess.
Ta-da! Chocolate Chip Cookie Balls!
Yum! Three ingredient easy. I always say that cookie balls are a “no-fail” recipe so there is room to get creative! You could add M&Ms or nuts to the batter or use different icing flavors- make it your own!
