Ingredients for Christmas French Toast:
- 10 slices of bread
- 5 eggs, beaten
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons sugar (optional)
- butter (for the pan)
- Christmas-themed cookie cutters
- decorating candies (optional)
How to make Christmas French Toast
- In a medium bowl, combine beaten eggs, milk, cinnamon, sugar, and vanilla. Mix to combine well
- Heat a pan on the stove to medium heat and allow butter to melt (optional. If you are using a non-stick pan, you can skip the butter)
- Take one slice of bread at a time and use a cookie cutter to create a Christmas shape (press down hard). Remove the remaining bread and dispose of.
- Dip each shape in the egg mixture to coat. Turn and coat the second slide.
- Place coated bread slice in pan and cook until golden brown. Flip and cook up til golden brown on both sides.
- Remove from pan and place on a plate. Repeat with the remaining slices of bread.
- Serve with icing and candy decorations if desired!
Tips for getting the best holiday french toast:
- To save bread, try to fit 2 cookie-cutter shapes on each slice.
- If you prefer, you can cook the french toast first and then use the cookie cutters to make the shapes.
- Change up the extract to add a little holiday flavor! Try using peppermint extract or almond extract for a fun flavor!
