Halloween is so full of sugar and sweets! It’s hard to find a balance between indulging in the fun and NOT getting a tummy ache! (but if you do, here’s what we do about it!)
This healthier version of Halloween party punch includes natural sugars and no artificial colors (without the rim). Stevia and natural sugars from fruit juice give this punch a sweet treat the kids will love without any of the yucky, artificial ingredients Moms don’t!
What ingredients do I need for a healthier party punch drink?
For a party, this recipe will make about 15 cups of punch:
- 6 cups 100% Grape Juice
- 3 cups Tart Cherry Juice
- 6 cans (12oz each) of Zevia Black Cherry
If you aren’t having a party, you can divide the recipe by 6:
- 1 cup Grape Juice
- 1/2 cups Tart Cherry Juice
- 1 can Zevia Black Cherry
(this will likely be about 2-3 servings)
For the rim (optional step- this will add sugar!)
- icing
- sprinkles
See below for a more natural icing substitution!
How to make Healthy Halloween Punch recipe:
- Get a large punch bowl that will hold 16+ cups of drink. (I love this one!)
- Carefully open cans of Zevia and pour them into the punch bowl.
- Add Grape Juice
- Add Tart Cherry Juice
- Give it a gentle stir, just to combine.
- You can always give it a taste test at this point and add a little more of any ingredient to achieve your desired taste! Tip: add a little extra Tart Cherry juice for more red color and tartness!
- Add ice as desired
- Serve with a punch spoon!
To add a sweet rim to serving glasses:
- Add icing to a small plate
- pour sprinkles onto a second plate
- Dip the rim of a glass into the icing and give it a gentle spin to coat
- Dip the icing-rimmed glass into the sprinkles then lift straight up
- Turn the glass right-side-up and add ice into glass
- Pour punch into the glass and enjoy! Always use small sprinkles and avoid serving to young children so they don’t choke on the sprinkles!
Can I make substitutions for the soda pop?
Yes! If you aren’t worried about the sugar or other ingredients, you can make substitutions to the punch recipe to make it your own.
Suggestions:
- Substitute Zevia Balck Cherry with Sprite for a more citrus state. You can also use Ginger Ale, Pepsi Cherry (this will add caffeine), Dr. Brown’s All-Natural Cherry Soda, Dr. Pepper Cherry (this will add caffeine), or even Mt. Dew Code Red (which will add a ton of caffeine! heads up!)
- Add Grenadine for extra cherry flavor
- Add a few maraschino cherries to the punch for a little cherry flavor and some texture
Please understand that adding/changing the ingredients will also change nutritional information. These suggestions above are not all-natural or sugar-free.
Can I make the icing rim a healthy way for Halloween punch?
Of course! I often use Miss Jones Organic Icing for my kids’ treats. It’s non-GMO and uses just a few natural ingredients. It even comes with sprinkles you can use for the rim!
This Healthy Halloween Punch is so good, even the Sanderson sisters can’t resist a sip! 😉
